Cardi B revealed she had her butt injections reduced over two years ago while addressing criticism about her body in a recent Instagram Live

The rapper shared that she had biopolymer injections at 21 but later reduced them due to her “small” frame

Cardi emphasized her healthy lifestyle and called out critics, saying she’s comfortable with her current appearance

Cardi B is responding to claims that she had her butt injections dissolved.

When she was just 21 years old, the rapper received biopolymer injections, which are made from silicone-based fillers not approved by the FDA and can leak and cause other complications.

The rapper, now 33, addressed the conversation surrounding her appearance in a recent Instagram Live. In a clip from the livestream, the “I Like It” rapper said she last had surgery in January 2024, when she had the injections “reduced.”

“A lot of y’all keep telling me to go get my ass reduced,” Cardi began. “I don’t need to go get my ass reduced, news flash, I did get my ass reduced.”

She then explained that she “can’t just go and lipo my butt because my skin is like kinda loose,” adding “that’s why my ass shakes so much.”

“Lipo” refers to the procedure that uses suction to “remove fat from specific areas of the body, such as the stomach, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms or neck,” to shape these areas, according to Mayo Clinic.

“So if I just go and get a lipo reduction, that is the easy way, my ass could drop,” Cardi continued. “So I would have to cut myself. And I’m not cutting myself. I’m not sitting down for four months. I’m outside, like I said. I like my body how it looks right now. I’m comfortable in my skin.”

“I’m very, very honest,” she added of her transparency with the public. “First of all, I got two lipos and one ass reduction.”

She added that she decided to have the effects of the injections reduced because of her “small” frame.

“First thing first, I am a small girl,” she shared. “I’m a very small, petite girl. My mom is petite. My sister’s petite. My aunts are small.”

The Grammy winner then called out people critiquing her body.

“Y’all acting like y’all new to this,” she added. “Y’all been seeing my body for how many years now? Too many.”

She added that she attributes her health to diet and lifestyle, prioritizing balanced meals.

“Oh ‘You look super super snatched.’ Yes, bitch, just stop hating,” she continued. “ I’ll tell you what I do so I could look snatched.”

She then shared that she eats grilled chicken, grilled salmon, and drinks beverages containing fiber, before telling fans not to “starve” to lose weight or change their appearance.

“That’s what I do. I’m being as honest as possible,” she added. “[Anytime] someone’s talking about oh, I look good, y’all say I’m doing surgery.”

“So shut the f--- up; it just gives straight hater,” she concluded the portion of the live discussing her body. “Hating ass bitches. Enjoy your life. Enjoy yourself, enjoy your everything.”

The rapper previously opened up about having her butt injections dissolved earlier this year.

“You have so much ass!” Kehlani told Cardi in a video shared by hip-hop radio host Big Boy on Instagram (@bigboysneighborhood) in February, which saw the R&B singer in disbelief playfully tapping the “Hello” artist’s behind.

Cardi then shared her plan with the crowd backstage.

“After this tour, I’m taking some out,” she told Kehlani as their circle laughed. “After this tour, I don’t wanna hear nobody for three months. I’m going to Colombia; nobody hit me up, nothing. I’m taking this ass out!”
