Marshall Munetsi has won 36 caps for Zimbabwe

Wolves midfielder Marshall Munetsi says he is fully focussed on helping the team get back to the Premier League as soon as possible rather than worrying about his own future.

The Zimbabwe international joined Wolves for £16m from Reims in February 2025 on a three-and-a-half year deal under then-head coach Vitor Pereira.

Having started 12 times under the Portuguese boss, Munetsi's game time plummeted under his replacement Rob Edwards, starting just once before being sent on loan to Paris FC for the second half of last term, where he scored four goals in 15 Ligue 1 matches.

Now preparing for the Championship under his third permanent head coach Cesar Peixoto, Munetsi said he is staying at the club until told otherwise.

"At the moment, with the conversations I've had with the club and the management, they want to build a team," he told BBC Radio WM.

"I think the priority for me is to make sure that I also help the team. As long as they want me to be here, I'm also happy to be here."

With Wolves facing up to life back in the second tier for the first time in nine seasons, Munetsi said he feels an obligation to make up for last term's disappointing campaign in the Premier League.

"Above all, what is most important right now is to make sure that the club gets back to the Premier League," he said.

"No matter who comes in, no matter who stays, that is the most important message that has come from the chairman [Nathan Shi] - that the club is to go back.

"We all contributed as much as players also to be where we are. So I think it's up to us also to make sure we rectify those mistakes."
