Nothing says friendship goals like getting matching movie-themed tattoos.
Noah Cyrus and Frankie Jonas, the youngest sibling of the Jonas Brothers, debuted matching ink with the sweetest meaning that they shared in a series of photos posted in a joint Instagram post on Friday, May 29.
The pals got tattoos of the characters they voiced in the whimsical Studio Ghibli film, Ponyo, which was released in Japan in July 2008, and in the United States the following year. Cyrus, 26, voiced the English language dub of the titular character, while Jonas, 25, voiced Sōsuke.

"ポニョ、宗介が好き," they captioned their Instagram post, which translates to "Ponyo loves Sosuke" in English.
The tattoos are outlined in black, as seen on their Instagram Stories, and are also displayed in their black-and-white Instagram carousel overlaid with the colorless filter. They show Cyrus' Ponyo nose to nose with Jonas' Sōsuke in the adorable, inked illustration.
Other pictures in their Instagram roundup show the pair posing together while showing off their tattoos, getting the ink done in a makeshift studio outside and a sweet shot of the pair sitting together on a couch. Cyrus' arm is wrapped around Jonas, who is leaning on her shoulder.
Cyrus and Jonas have never dated despite the romance rumors that swirled around them in the past. In January, the youngest sister of Miley Cyrus opened up about her former feelings towards her Ponyo co-star.
Speaking to a commenter on a TikTok video, Noah said she was "in love" with young Jonas at the time.

The comment came in response to a user on a Jan. 11 video in which Noah and her best friend ride in the car while the JonasBrothers' song "Lovebug" plays on the stereo.

"Younger me thought Noah Cyrus and Frankie Jonas was gonna be the IT FUTURE couple," wrote the commenter. "They even did Ponyo together as kids."
In response, Noah — who also collaborated with Frankie on the Ponyo theme song for the English version of the movie — wrote, "oh i was in loooovvveee with frankie. during ponyo and on tour w our siblings it was ONNNN."
Noah's sister, Miley, famously toured with Frankie's older brothers — Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas — during the 2007-2008 "Best of Both Worlds Tour," which featured Hannah Montana and Miley as headliners and The Jonas Brothers as the concert opener during their peak Disney Channel era.

After dealing with addiction, she added, “Now I know my sense of self, and I know what I want to write about and who I want to connect to. I'm at a place in my life where I don't think that people really know this part of who I am, because there have been so many different variations of myself 'cause I was just growing up, and I was changing. But I made it out on a really positive side of, I think, a really dark time that I was going through.”
Frankie, meanwhile, has also been open about addiction, and released his debut extended play Sewer Rat in June 2023.
