Queen Elizabeth reportedly had a private impression of Melania Trump that never surfaced in public. A new book claim said the late monarch could be sharp behind closed doors. It also suggested one of her quietest observations came after meeting the former first lady during Donald Trump’s state visit.

As per a new account, the late Queen later described Melania Trump as distant and hard to read. The claim came from a book about her dealings with American presidents. It also added a more personal layer to meetings that, in public, stayed formal, polished, and tightly diplomatic.

New book claims Queen Elizabeth impersonated Melania Trump

As per the OK! Magazine report, author Susan Page wrote in “The Queen and Her Presidents” that Queen Elizabeth was a “skilled mimic” in private. The report said she portrayed Melania Trump as “silent and remote.” Page also linked that impression to actress Greta Garbo. According to the article, the late monarch would quip, “I want to be alone,” repeating the famous line from “Grand Hotel.” That detail gave the book one of its most striking behind-the-scenes claims.

The report tied the alleged impression to the Trumps’ Windsor Castle visit in July 2018. Queen Elizabeth later met Donald and Melania Trump two more times in 2019. However, the article showed a sharp split between private claims and public courtesy. After she died in 2022, Donald Trump praised her on Truth Social. He wrote that he and Melania would always cherish their time with the Queen. He also thanked her for “generous friendship, great wisdom, and wonderful sense of humor.”

Meanwhile, the report said Donald Trump believed he had “great chemistry” with Queen Elizabeth. Susan Page also quoted him, admiring her discipline and diplomacy. He said she never said “a bad thing about anybody.”

He also called her “the opposite of me.” Still, the article added a less flattering thread from the same book world. It said the monarch was reportedly angered when his helicopter scorched the Buckingham Palace lawn. Together, those claims painted a familiar royal contrast. In public, Queen Elizabeth stayed measured. In private, the book suggested, Melania Trump had clearly left an impression.
